RCOBAA Badminton Tournament 2026: Team Nalanda Takes the Court
On Saturday, 5th September 2026, Team Nalanda stepped onto the court at Champions Arena, Pakenham, to represent the maroon and gold at the RCOBAA Badminton Tournament. From the first serve, the message was clear: one team, one spirit, one Nalanda. ❤️💛
Group Stage Battles
Our boys opened the day against Ananda at 11.00 AM, followed by Royal at 12.00 PM. Two of the biggest names in Sri Lankan school sport, back to back, and our team met both with pride, discipline, and plenty of fight. Every rally was contested and every point was earned.
Proud to Have Fielded This Team
1. Chathuranga Perera (Captain)
2. Isith Malawara Arachchy
3. Sehan Wickramasinghe
4. Gavin Wijeratne
5. Ranthushka Sasindu (Former National Rank 1)

Thank you to each of you for the hours of preparation and for wearing the Nalanda colours with pride.
The Maroon Wall
The call went out to all Nalandians, families, and friends to wear maroon and bring the noise, and Melbourne answered. The support from the stands lifted the team through both group-stage matches and turned Champions Arena maroon for the day. 🙌🏽🔥
